Life’s a Beach!

The Balcony on our New Pad!
Balcony on our new pad!

For those of you who don’t know, Dave and I moved to Miami, FL about 8 weeks ago.  In that time, I traveled to IL for 4 weeks to direct a couple of shows.  So, now I am finally back and settling in to my new City.  Miami is interesting.  Absolutely beautiful in parts, and sadly run down in others.  Although, I imagine this can be said about most major metropolitan areas.  Speaking of Metropolitans, my beloved Mets have been in town this week, so we have been off to the ballpark to spread some NY support.  We can see Marlin’s Park from our apartment windows, and watch fireworks over the stadium after every Friday night home stand.  It’s not a bad life!

I am still trying to navigate the South Florida theatre scene, but am actively getting myself known around town.  I appreciate all the help I can get meeting people and making both friends and business acquaintances down here!  I am still hoping to be able to maintain a career in theatre while I am here.  I will still be leaving town for gigs as they arise, of course.  I am hoping that my time here in town also involves employment in the arts and hopefully to learn as much as I can for a future business improvement, check out ThePayStubs for financial help.  Florida has a lot of culture to explore.  I am still just figuring out how to access it all.

I’ll be going to see COMPANY in Concert at Palm Beach Dramaworks next weekend, and GOOD PEOPLE at Gable Stage the weekend after that.  Last weekend we went to visit the Museum and Gardens at Vizcaya.  http://www.vizcayamuseum.org/  Stunning!  This coming weekend I have an audition, followed by several more in the next week.  So I’m getting involved!
